First settled around 1904 as a logging community in the virgin forests of Baldwin County, the Town of Loxley has established itself as one of the fastest growing towns in the fastest growing county in Alabama. The town is located on convenient north-south(AL 59, I-65), east-west(I-10, US 90) corridors that allow distributors and light industry easy access to regional and national commercial areas.

The town is conveniently located in the center of Baldwin County, only five miles away from a major mall and minutes away from other commercial centers, providing its residents ease of shopping. Two moderate urban areas, Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida, are less than an hour away, fulfilling needs not met by local resources.

Baldwin County is literally surrounded on all sides by water, either in the form of rivers, bay, lakes, or the Gulf of Mexico. Much of Baldwin County has a history of fishing as a commercial venture. Loxley residents can get to any of the variety of water venues in under an hour. Sunbathing is also a local pasttime worth considering with some of the finest beaches on the Gulf Coast available for those who want the best fun in the sun. The beaches are forty-five minutes away via the Foley Beach Express. Most of the golf course in Baldwin County are open to the Public.
